Return and Replacement Policy:
Situations where we will not accept return of plants or provide store credit:
- Frost damage to plants. While we do allow customers to buy plants prior to Ohio’s frost free date (May 1st), we advise customers to keep their plants inside until the threat of frost has passed. If your plants are killed due to frost damage, we are unable to issue a refund.
- damage due to lack of watering. It is important that you follow the watering guidelines. Some plants require more water than others. Generally, container-based plants will dry out more quickly than plants planted in flower beds. You can find information on water requirements for each plant on its store listing. If you have any questions regarding the watering guidelines for plants, please do not hesitate to ask our greenhouse staff, thank you!
- Perennials not coming back after one growing season. While most perennials do come back year after year, not all perennials are the same. Some perennials, such as Butterfly Bush, only live for two seasons. In other cases, an especially harsh winter may cause some perennials not to come back. As this is out of our control, we cannot offer refunds for perennials that do not regrow for multiple seasons.
- Mistaken order; wrong plants provided in an order. If you place an order online and we provide you with the incorrect plants upon pickup, please notify us of the issue and we will coordinate a date and time to remedy the situation.
- Plants diseased at time of purchase. Generally, all our plants are healthy and of the highest quality. If we notice that a plant looks unhealthy we will not allow a customer to walk out the door with it. However, if you do purchase a plant that you suspect is unhealthy, please notify us and return it as soon as possible for a full refund or exchange.
- If you experience any other situations where you need to return or exchange plants, please reach out to us via our contact information section. Thank you.
Store Hour by Season:
Our hours change according to the growing season. While the greenhouse is our main occupation, Mike is also co-manager of Pochedly Farms and Susanne is a full-time teacher with the Parma City School District. As a result, our hours have to remain flexible to keep up with everything else. To keep our customers informed, please check our social media pages for the latest updates on store hours and please do not hesitate to call or message us if you are unsure when we are open, thank you!
- Spring Season (May 1st-July 1st) 8AM-6PM
The spring season is our busiest time of the year. Our official opening day for the spring is May 1st, which is also Ohio’s frost-free date. We can be found working in the greenhouse prior to May 1st, and customers can purchase plants prior to May 1st, but we do not recommend this as you will have to keep your plants inside to avoid the frost. - Summer Season (July 2nd-15 September) Sporadic hours, sometimes self-serve.
The dog days of summer is when things become busy on the farm and we might even leave for a short vacation. The selection of flowers in the greenhouse is lower as well, but we still have a diverse vegetable selection at this point in the season. We typically have someone manning the front desk, but if no one is around, you can send us a message on facebook letting us know what you took, or place an online order and we will set it aside for you to pick up.
- Fall Season (16 September-01 November) 8AM-6PM
During the fall we are back to our normal hours. You will find a wide selection of pumpkins, mums, and other fall decor.
- Holiday Season (02 November-25 December) 8AM-6PM
During the holiday season, we are available during our normal hours. We sell poinsettias, wreaths, pine roping, and Christmas Trees during this season.

Frequently Asked Questions:
How long has Pochedly Greenhouses been in business?
Pochedly Greenhouses was established in 1986. We started with one small greenhouse and soon expanded to the facility you see today.
What qualifications and training do the owners have?
The owners, Mike and Susanne Pochedly, are highly qualified and experienced growers. Susanne received her bachelors in biology from Kent State University, specializing in plant sciences (botany). Mike received his bachelors from Ohio State University with a degree in agricultural sciences, specializing in greenhouse management. With a small staff, Mike and Susanne continue to be involved in every detail of the business, which keeps their growing knowledge sharp.
Does Pochedly Greenhouses grow their own plants?
Almost everything at the greenhouse is grown in-house. Poinsettias are grown from cuttings, which are shipped in from North Carolina. Almost everything else is grown from seed within our own facilities. This helps us prevent plant diseases (diseases can be brought in from other greenhouses when you purchase their plants) and keep prices low.
Why are Pochedly Greenhouses so much lower than other places?
Because we grow most everything from seed and recycle plastic plant containers, our prices can be much lower than what you’ll find at larger greenhouses or big box stores. Pochedly Greenhouses has always prided itself on being able to provide high-quality plants at affordable prices. We believe that gardening and growing your own food is something that everyone should be able to afford.
Does Pochedly Greenhouses run any sales or specials?
We do not usually run any major sales because our prices are already so much lower than other stores. Once in a while we will run a special near the end of the spring season to try to clean out the greenhouse, but it all depends on what we have remaining in the greenhouse. Our advice is that if you have your eye on some of our plants, purchase them sooner rather than later. As a smaller greenhouse, we do not carry a lot of extra inventory. We grow to sell out of most everything.
